1:30pm CDT - $2000 mistake today - my results vs. system results! I just have to shake my head and say WTF am I doing? I basically took 2 trades I shouldn't have (both losers) and the trade I should have taken and did, I took off after 3/4 of a cent profit instead of the 4 cent target which it easily hit 3 min. later...

Time to automate, Gearhead. The weakest link is probably your brain and stress. You need some quantitative way of defining what you're visualizing.
ReplyDeleteMulticharts has a one month free trial, I think. Connects to E-Signal and has the same language as TradeStation. Trust me when I say EasyLanguage is really, really easy. You don't even have to be a programmer to understand it. If nothing else, just hit up the community college system over the summer for some intro to programming course. Those classes will probably start in a month and a half or so.
Thanks for the data Gearhead, I almost give up searching the data on internet. Feel sorry for your result. I also lost -712 today trading QM.

TC, I have a quantitative way to define each and every trade - problem is when I make a discretionary trade or vary my parameters because I think I know better!

I have the same problem, MBA. But I just said f-it and went fully auto and have not put in any automated trades. I'm just saying that this could work for you also.
