Tues. 1/11

2:00pm CST - Abysmal results today. I need to revamp my plan. You see I stop trading when I get up $1000-2000, but my fuzzy stop point isn't until around -$3000. On days like this when my "edge" is non-existent or negative, it makes no sense to keep trading as the red gets redder.

Net breakdown (contracts traded):
ZS -$1831(40), CL -$1094(10)
RESULTS FOR DAY
Contracts:50
Net $P/L:-2926
Wins:1
Losses:7
Win%:13
Avg$Win:474
Avg$Loss:-486

  1. I don't know about the markets your trading, but the one's I'm looking at are horrible for trading right now. Good time to be on the sidelines (for me at least).

  2. Late movement on CL and ZS. I almost quit trading after down almost $1000. But luckily my two trades prevailed and finish on green.

If you played ZS or CL after 11.00 EST, you may have green rather than red.

  3. Gearhead - It's me ! Happy New Year !
Haven't been here in a while.
I'm now working hard on IT contracts trying to build-up a trading account. I think I'll have enough to start trading again by May....LOL.
It's still very tough out here "in the real world".

  4. I'm genuinely interested in your trade, specifically the ZS. Can you provide me with bid x ask historical data (level-1) quotes in some sort of CSV or XLS file? For, say, a month?

I'm primarily an equities guy and that's all I trade during the day. No one in my group or in my proximity trades the ZS, so for me looking at your performance + historical data is purely an academic problem. We can correspond on the specifics of the market's microstructure over e-mail or some such.

  5. MSimms - good to see you're still kicking. Good luck when you start trading again!

TuxCat - I can send you eSignal csv data. Send me an email (see my profile).
