A daily chronicle of results of one retail futures trader trading my own accounts. I define myself as a day trader and generally swing for at least a few points most of the time. But I do make the occasional scalp for ticks too.
A tough week MBA. I just re-read your first post where you mentioned the obvious roller-coaster that daytraders traverse every day. And so it continues year after year. I remember reading once where Don Miller was asked how long it takes to become a successful daytrader and he said "about a decade". I'm sure that answer shocked the newbies who expected to hear "6 months". I do the mental battles every day. I see lots of good setups every day that I don't take for certain reasons; the most common being simple "uncertainty". This is a mental battle between me and myself, not me and the market. One of my favorite quotes is "Every day I face brilliant opportunities disguised as challenges" (author unknown). Keep up the good fight and eventually enough light bulbs will light up all at once and the ultimate "Aha!" moment will take place. Oh, and remember ..... "Don't get older; get better" (my life's motto)
