A daily chronicle of results of one retail futures trader trading my own accounts. I define myself as a day trader and generally swing for at least a few points most of the time. But I do make the occasional scalp for ticks too.

it's clear strategy can't cope with big news, maybe shutting it down during pending big news is best course of action. That also means deciding what news big enough to avoid is up to human hand then again that doesn't sound like an auto strategy at all.
ReplyDeleteEvery news is bad news for well defined strategy:)
ReplyDeleteTST/Cory, I agree about no one strategy that can factor in big news... on days I'm getting it all wrong, shutting it down is the best thing I can do to trade another day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for comments. EU news has burned me twice now in past 2 weeks - for about $6k. No way to filter out unplanned news however. I wish there was.
