2:45pm CST - Several euro system signals today but I missed the last one which was a winner but still would have only been breakeven for day. I'm still thinking of kicking this system to the curb but it's actually not doing any worse than my discretionary trading is this year!

days where systematic trading don't work but discretionary trading does makes me challenge the prevailing opinion of market randomness vs. structure. it would be tidy of me to think that the truth is somewhat of a compromise between the two but the universe of permutative nuances is too big to either quantify or qualify.
ReplyDeleteanyway, hope your account made money today. i actually just stepped back this morning and decided instead to buy some needed house items. it was strange being out of the house at the opening bell.

Deleteyeah, the ideal situation would be to have profitable systems and a good discretionary method as well and trade all to smooth out the equity curve. Some day...
