In other news, a former trader remembers the CME futures pits.
A daily chronicle of results of one retail futures trader trading my own accounts. I define myself as a day trader and generally swing for at least a few points most of the time. But I do make the occasional scalp for ticks too.

Woa,,precise stop .
ReplyDeleteAre you scalping or swinging? If scalping, take the 10-15 ticks and run. If swinging, you just can't go to breakeven so soon, as much as it hurts.
ReplyDeleteOn the first trade you bought the breakout on a head fake, properly held through a probe lower that didn't take out the last swing low, were rewarded with a real breakout, but then went to breakeven before the breakout point was tested. That's basically asking to get taken out. I do the same thing all the time and it's bad for business.
Yes and yes and I agree. It's been a case lately of being fooled by the noise which is most of what CL is.
