A daily chronicle of results of one retail futures trader trading my own accounts. I define myself as a day trader and generally swing for at least a few points most of the time. But I do make the occasional scalp for ticks too.
You should include gross P/L and/or commissions as well. It would be nice to see what % of your trading is eatin up in commissions.
ReplyDeleteAlways focus on the bottom line MBA...amateurs focus too much on commissions. The time to worry about commissions is when you are selecting your broker. Keep that net P/L in the green and all will be well. Looks like you did overtrade today and probably did some Martingale strategy today.
ReplyDeleteThanks for comments. No plans to add more stats at this point. Kleenup, no Martingale for me lately (2007:yes) - but I do average into a full position with up to 2 entry points at times.
ReplyDeleteWe really don't need to know the commissions, because he posts the Contracts traded. Assume each round turn costs $4;50 or so, 4.5 x 58 = $261. Gross P/L 261 + 249 = 510,, or half the profits went to commissions. I think you are over trading. Even if commissions were 25% of the gross, that is still a lot. Just something to think about. Martingale strategies placed on the fly = gambling and blowups.
