2:35pm CST - Back to system trading... The Jan. test trades which did well carried too much risk to downside so I tweaked things so I don't add, have set entry and exit points, and 1:1 RR. Some data below (not listed but worst drawdown during backtest was $820). Backtest was manual as coding would be very very hard but perhaps I will try it at some point soon.

This I know, you are not a system trading guy. But I could be wrong.
ReplyDeletecory, you don't remember my old blog posts very well it seems. ;)
DeleteHey MBA ... it has been a few months ... fwiw (I assume the trades are live/real) ... I can look at those trades you made and see your emotions ... you're are late (scared to put a trade on), on the wrong side (a lot) and seem to be trying to trade the CL AGAINST the trend ... don't do this ... I could care less what anyone says about the CL it TRENDS ... a lot ... here is my 2 cents ... CL makes a higher high and higher low (trade long) reverse for shorts ... hey you got to start somewhere ...
ReplyDeleteI have an MA and that is it ... I use Renko bars (much bigger Renko's in the last week ... I adjust them based on cycles) ... I look at price action ... don't get bogged down with shitty slow indi's
I have traded no more than 2 lots this week in the CL and ES and every day was profitable (not huge but acceptable) ... a monkey can do what I am doing ... I just have 15K in hours watching this shit
MBA ... one other thing ... I traded Thursday and was up and down several times until a few trades finally held ... my %win ratio at the end of the day was 41.67 ... high win/loss ratios can be very misleading ... I kept my losses small and finally got a few trades to run to target ... this is what has allowed me to become profitable as a trader in all environments
ReplyDeleteAnon, thanks for ideas. All trades I post are live/real.
