A daily chronicle of results of one retail futures trader trading my own accounts. I define myself as a day trader and generally swing for at least a few points most of the time. But I do make the occasional scalp for ticks too.

Fri.
1:00pm CDT - Damn beans - 7 ticks slippage on my entry!! That's $525 it cost me. I can handle a tick now and then, but 7?! Come on! Really? Still trading K contract and will until N contract has more volume, likely later this month.
Net breakdown (contracts traded): ZS $644(6), GCL -$922(5)

For the week, pretty much negated most of last week.
How many contracts are on the bid and ask side usually, that does seem excessive.
ReplyDeleteIt varies alot but usually WAY more than the 6 I'm trying to throw around. Buying a tick over/under swing highs/lows doesn't help either.
ReplyDeleteOh I see, I guess your just trying to get in when too many others are. That used to happen to me with the YM, it's frustrating.
